What is recorded here
Under Ballyrickard More, a raised rath stands above a man-made passage, preserving an E.CHRIST. landscape where human hands shaped both surface and depth. The structure suggests people valued the hidden route as much as the visible mound, perhaps using the passage to move through rain, danger or secrecy while the rath marked the place on the horizon.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as RAISED RATH & Man-made underground passage. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
