What is recorded here
Mud, stone and forgotten labour built the raised rath in Ballyplunt during the E.CHRIST.. period. The land remembers the shape even when people stop naming it. A kitchen fire, a child's shout or a passing cart may have filled the circle before silence returned.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as RAISED RATH. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
