What is recorded here
Seven hachured features marked in the S half of Coolcarta West townland on the 1946 revision of the OS 6-inch map, three to the E of a NNE-SSW running road and four to its W (covering an area of c. 855m NNE-SSW; c. 600m WNW-ESE), proved on inspection in 1984 to be a series of pits, depressions and quarries. As they are of post-AD 1700 date they do not come within the remit of the Archaeological Survey of Ireland.
