Promontory fort

Promontory fort, coastal

What is recorded here

Marianne spilled tea across the keyboard and watched brown rings climb the keys like tiny maps. She laughed once, switched off the machine, and carried the tray to the sink. The chamber went quiet except for dripping water and her own breathing. Later she would remember the sudden warmth of that small refusal, not the lost work.
Possible promontory fort described in 2003 as follows; 'A double wall or bank and fosse [KE079-141001-] can be seen cutting off an area south of a natural swallow hole. A second headland [KE079-141002-] immediately to the north has a depression running across the narrow isthmus. These were seen only from the air and could not be verified on the ground. The area is one of mountainous bog and outcropping rock. The site is overlooked by higher ground to the east' (Casey 2003, 33, no. J).

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
