Princess Royal was a paddle steamer built in 1856 and wrecked in 1871 near Craig Laggan, Rhinns of Galloway, in the North Channel. The vessel struck a rock during fog and sank with the loss of 14 lives; it was en route from Glasgow to Dublin, carrying passengers and general cargo.
