Wreck

What is recorded here

The National Monuments Record of Wales records Pride of Wales as Wreck from the Modern period. The saved point comes from the official national record. Inclusion does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
Pride of Wales was a 19th-century paddle steamer launched in 1854 and wrecked in 1862 near Lundy Island, Devon, after hitting a rock. The vessel was carrying a cargo of coal and general goods; no lives were lost, and the wreck is noted for its historical significance as one of the early steam-powered vessels operating in the Bristol Channel.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
