Powis Castle pond is a castle, fort or tower in Powys, Wales. Perhaps water gathered there before stone rose, filling a hollow dug by hands now forgotten. Maybe the pond marked the castle's edge, a liquid wall against invasion and drought. Imagine ducks crossing the courtyard at dawn, their shadows joining the legs of towers yet unbuilt.
