What is recorded here

Wall-mounted cast-iron post box, c.1930, with raised ‘P & T’ initials. Set into limestone wall at entrance to Presentation Brothers, Mount St Joseph.
This cast-iron post box, which is still in use, is an attractive item of street furniture. The raised detailing, alluding to the Celtic Revival style, is of artistic interest, and is a reminder of the change in administration from British colonial power to the Irish Free State in the 1920s and 30s.
