Crannogs were ancient lake dwellings, and Roonivoolin may hold one. Water would have hidden the wooden stakes and stone foundations beneath a surface that still moves with wind. People may have stood at that edge, watching ducklings break the green darkness or remembering a household that stopped answering calls.
