Posbury camp is an Iron Age hillfort on Castle Down where three ramparts and intermediate ditches still cut through deciduous woodland. The defences curve around the south of the hill, while ploughing has erased much of the rest across the arable fields. It stands at about 170 metres, facing north over the valley of the River Yeo, preserving a broad pear-shaped enclosure that once excluded everyone but its own people.

The National Heritage List for England records Posbury camp, Castle Down as a scheduled monument. The saved point comes from the centre supplied by the official record. Listing does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
