Port nam Muileach

Here it is said Lochlan McLaine, of Duart Castle, Mull, landed with his clansmen, when on his way to fight the battle of "Traigh Gruinart" hence the name. Translates into English as "Port of the natives of Mull."

Port nam Muileach is a coastal rock feature on the west coast of Scotland, composed primarily of basaltic rock formed during the Paleogene period, around 60 to 55 million years ago, as a result of volcanic activity associated with the opening of the North Atlantic. The site is historically notable for its association with Lochlan McLaine of Duart Castle, who is said to have landed here with his clansmen en route to the Battle of Traigh Gruinart.
