PLATFORM RATH in Tattintonegan

PLATFORM RATH

What is recorded here

Mortons has no visible monument but the plan still marks a raised platform where human hands shaped the land. That much is certain. The rest belongs to imagination: a boundary marker, a watch point, a childhood cliff or a forgotten stage for festival noise. Under the grass, stones may still hold the shape of that use.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as PLATFORM RATH. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
