PLATFORM RATH in Ballynagalliagh

PLATFORM RATH

What is recorded here

Mortons and Fergus, the twins who lived inside one another, build a flat-topped fortress above Ballynagalliagh. They hammered joists into wet clay, laid plank across plank, and climbed scaffolds until the structure touched cloud. When Fergus looked through the floor he saw Mortons staring back, building the same room from below. They stopped competing, tied the two structures together, and turned the valley into a ladder.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as PLATFORM RATH. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
