The northernmost of the three pits [LI048-111001-, LI048-111002-, LI048-112----] is an irregular shaped pit exposed in both faces of the drain and lying 0.32m below the existing ground surface. The pit measures 1.30m northwest-southeast by 0.8m and 0.26m deep. It is filled with black, charcoal stained soil that has regular inclusions of burnt stone.
