Picton Castle, Belvidere;Mound, Slebech is a Post Medieval prospect mound in Pembrokeshire, built for the pleasure of seeing rather than the defence of resisting. It stands as a deliberate frame for the horizon, where the land was shaped to invite a wider view. The mound may have been climbed at dawn, when mist still clung to the valley below and the sea appeared suddenly beyond. In that moment, the boundary between ownership and wonder disappeared.
