What is recorded here

This blue commemorative plaque records: Pepper Street Chapel. The Methodist New Connexion Chapel opened in 1835 and closed just after the First World War when the building was sold. For many years the chapel was hidden inside a later garage and was only 'rediscovered' during conversion work in 1984.
Pepper Street Chapel served as an important place of worship for the Methodist New Connexion community from its opening in 1835 until shortly after World War I, reflecting the significant role of Methodism in Victorian and Edwardian Chester.

A plaque record does not grant entry to a building or private land. View it from a public place unless permission is clearly given.
