What is recorded here
Associated with the ecclesiastical remains at the SE end of Cruach na Cara/St Macdara’s Island and named 'Penitential Station' on the OS 6-inch maps. This possible house site lies c. 14m to the NW of the church (GA076-020001-). It is defined by a line of boulders along the W, N and E sides. No visible surface trace of the S side survives. A possible cross-wall is visible in the interior, the E half of which is strewn with rubble. It is possible that the name on the 6-inch maps is referring to the leacht (GA076-020004-).
