Pen-y-Clawdd Court, Castle Mound is a medieval motte and bailey in Monmouthshire, Wales. A tall mound of earth and stone may have carried a wooden tower above the valley, while a lower courtyard held horses, tools and people. The shape still marks the ground where power and defence once met.
