What is recorded here

Peel of Lintrathen is a possible medieval castle in Angus where the Durwards kept the Bell of St Madden until their male line died out circa 1400. Sir Alan Durward was active during the reign of Alexander III, and local tradition places the castle near Easter Peel farmhouse. A low disturbed knoll within a sub-rectangular enclosure south of the farm remains visible as a cropmark, preserving the shape of a home that ordinary memory has already forgotten.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Peel of Lintrathen as Castle (medieval)(possible). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
