Peden's Cave

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Peden's Cave as Cave (nil Antiquity), Covenanters Cave (17th Century). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Peden's Cave is a natural limestone cave formed through dissolution processes typical of karst landscapes. It is historically associated with the Covenanters of the 17th century, who may have used it as a place of refuge during periods of persecution.
