The site reflects a long-standing Christian and pre-Christian tradition of water worship in Ireland, with the surrounding enclosure possibly marking a later attempt to preserve or define the sacred space.

A holy well situated inside a modern circular enclosure. It is still in use and is situated in excellent land.
