What is recorded here

Ornate gates, Chirk Castle is a castle, fort or tower in Wrexham, Wales. Perhaps the gates still judge visitors by the shape of their shadows before they judge the shape of their requests. Maybe a keeper once lived inside the gate room, listening for the difference between a knocking human and a knocking animal. Imagine the brass working smooth under tired palms, the whole castle holding its breath until the gates admit what they understand.
