Ollabrendan Grave Yard stands on the NE shore of Omey Island in County Galway, still receiving the dead after more than a century of growth. The kidney-shaped plot stretched northward by 1898, adapting as the island community expanded. Salt wind moves through it now, carrying voices from boats and kitchens into soil that has never stopped taking them in.

Close to seashore on NE side of Omey Island. This irregularly shaped graveyard, correctly Ula Bhreandáin, is shown on 1st ed. of OS 6-inch map as a kidney-shaped area (NW-SE 45m; NE-SW 25m) later extended to N (2nd ed., 1898).
