The *Olenek* was a Soviet factory trawler that was lost in 1968 near Gloup Voe, Shetland, following a fire that broke out while the vessel was anchored. All 32 crew members perished, making it one of the deadliest maritime disasters in Shetland's history. The wreck is of significance due to the international attention it received and the subsequent improvements in maritime safety regulations.
