Old Slains, Old Castle Village

Old Slains Castle, near Old Castle Village, was built by the Keith family in the 13th century and later held by the Gordon family in the 16th century. It is remembered for its historical association with the Gordon Earls of Huntly and its strategic role in the Scottish nobility's power dynamics.
