This grey commemorative plaque records: The Old Rectory (Grade II) A fine Georgian house, built in 1789, reputedly for Philip Dykes, gent. From 1830, the residence of Mrs Elizabeth Stone. It was the Parish Rectory from 1879 until 1982. Recorded plaque organisation: The Beccles Society.
Philip Dykes and Elizabeth Stone resided in the Old Rectory, a Grade II listed Georgian house built in 1789; Dykes was a gentleman of the late 18th century, while Stone lived there from 1830, before it became the Parish Rectory in 1879.
