What is recorded here
Old Quarries, Top Castle is a Post Medieval quarry in Sir Gaerfyrddin, Carmarthenshire, Wales. Human hands broke stone there long after the castle rose, perhaps feeding walls, roads or private ambition. The exact purpose has faded, but the scarred earth still suggests labour, hunger and the endless human need to shape the world.
The National Monuments Record of Wales records Old Quarries, Top Castle as Quarry from the Post Medieval period. The saved point comes from the official national record. Inclusion does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
