The Old Man of Stoer is a prominent coastal rock pillar located on the northwest coast of Scotland, formed from Lewisian gneiss, one of the oldest rock formations in the British Isles, dating back over 2.7 billion years. It is notable for its striking isolation and for being a well-known landmark associated with the Stoer Head UNESCO Global Geosite, which features some of the oldest sedimentary rocks in Europe.
