Old Loudoun Castle, Hindberrybank

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Old Loudoun Castle, Hindberrybank as Motte and Bailey (medieval). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Old Loudoun Castle was built in the 12th or 13th century by the Loudoun family, a prominent Scottish noble lineage. It is remembered as an example of early medieval military architecture in South Lanarkshire and for its historical association with the region's feudal past.
