Ogham stone (present location) in Unknown Townland

This is the present location of one of four stones (KE057-107004-, with KE057-107----, KE057-107002-, KE057-107003-) from Whitefield, Co. Kerry, that were displayed by the MacGillicuddy of the Reeks at the Dublin Exhibition in 1853. At least two of these were discovered in a Man-made underground passage in this townland (Macalister 1945, 208). The Man-made underground passage, not marked on the OS maps, is locally reputed to have been located on the NW side of Baunclune House, but no surface trace of it remains. This stone stands at least 1.06m high and is trapezoidal in section, measuring 0.26m x 0.23m. The inscription is executed in broad, deep scores along both angles. The dexter angle is badly damaged and Macalister (1945, 212, no 218) interpreted the remaining ends of scores as: L[A]G[O]BB[. . . ; ; confirmed by McManus (1991, 65). The inscription on the second angle reads: MUCO TUCACAC.
