This is the present location of 1 of 6 ogham stones (CO085-067003- with CO085-067004-; CO085-067005-; CO085-067006-; CO085-067007-; CO085-067008-) discovered in 1846 built into a Man-made underground passage (CO085-067002-) in the SW quadrant of a ringfort (CO085-067001-) at Ballyhank, Co. Cork. This stone (0.6m; 0.3m x 0.1m) is broken and missing the first part of the inscription, which Macalister (1945, 93, no. 97) gave as ... ]LL MAQI VORRTIGURN. According to Macalister this is a secondary inscription, the older apparently copied ‘in minute pin-scrapes on the unoccupied part of the second inscribed angle’ and given as DIOBI (ibid.). (Power et al. 1997, no. 7948) This stone has been studied as part of the ‘Ogham in 3D’ project undertaken by the School of Celtic Studies, Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies.
