Unknown Townland holds an ogham stone from an underground passage at Monataggart, Co. Cork, not a lost or hidden new place. The stone is 1.88m long, bears a legible ogham inscription, and belongs to a small group of ogham stones found together in that passage. It may have marked a boundary, a burial, a shrine or a remembered person, though the facts do not say which.

This stone (1.88m; 0.35m x 0.26m) is one of two ogham stones (see CO061-022004-, also CO061-022003-) discovered in a Man-made underground passage (CO061-022001-) at Monataggart, Co. Cork, where it formed one of the 'upright stones' (Quarry 1896, 382). Two other ogham stones (CO061-022002-, CO061-022005-) were also discovered at this site. According to Macalister (1945, 119, no. 120), the 'inscription [is] perfectly legible, though the surface of the stone is rather rough'. He gave the inscription as BROINIENAS KOI NETA TTRENALUGOS; McManus (1991, 66) had difficulty reading the final U, O and S, but these have more recently been confirmed by the 3d data collected by the Ogham in 3D project (see below).
