Knockshanawee, County Cork: an underground passage in a ringfort once carried six ogham stones, and this is where one of them belongs now. The stone is 3.1m long, 0.4m wide and 0.3m thick, large enough to have spanned as the third lintel. Its marks may read CULRIGAI MAQI MENUMAQ[I], a name and lineage cut into stone before the passage was forgotten. Underfoot in Cork City, that old doorway still waits to be imagined.

This is the present location of one of six ogham stones found in a Man-made underground passage (CO072-078002-) in a ringfort (CO072-078001-) at Knockshanawee, Co Cork (see CO072-078006-). This stone (3.1m; 0.4m x 0.3m) was the third lintel. The inscription was given by Power (1932, 23-4, no. 27) as CUBBRIGAI MAQIMENU MAQ[........], and by Macalister (1945, 114, no. 115) and McManus (2004, 15, no. 2) as CULRIGAI MAQI MENUMAQ[I].
