Ogham stone (present location) in Cork City

Fifteen ogham stones emerged from a hidden underground passage inside the Ballyknock North ringfort, yet this one wears its history in chipped notches along a damaged edge. The final three marks duplicate across the top, as if the carver worried the message might fade and insisted it be read twice. Branán son of Oqoli likely stands behind the grooves, his name preserved in stone rather than forgotten in soil. The University College Cork Stone Corridor now holds the fragment, waiting for a hand to trace the repeated angles and imagine the breath behind them.
