Legan Castle vanished, but its corner stone survived by the doorway, carrying a cross and a name worn almost to powder. Macalister heard Lobbi son of Muccoi Rin in the scratches, while McManus saw only fragments, proving that time erases more than it reveals. The stone still stands two metres tall, waiting for someone patient enough to listen before judging what remains.

A cross-inscribed ogham stone (2.03 x 0.51 x 0.42m, converted from Macalister 1945, 38, no. 34), which was `formerly a corner-stone (?) in a now ruined structure called Legan Castle (KK028-026001-) ' (Macalister, ibid.), is today standing by the doorway. Macalister read the much worn inscription as: LOBB[I] K[OI] MAQQI MUC[COI] [RI]N[I] but McManus (1997, 67) could only be certain of: [..]LL[..][....]MAQQ[..]m[..]C[...].
