Ogham stone in Kilgobnet

In 1850 an agent of John Windele's recorded an upright ogham stone in a field at or near Kilgobnet (Macalister 1945, 205-208). It measured 5 feet (1.52m) x 3 feet (.9m) x 2 feet 6 inches (.76m) and was read by Windele as: DUGONNGGUQS Subsequent attempts to locate the stone were unsuccessful, and Macalister suggested that it be identified as one of the Kilcoolaght East (KE065-003004-) stones. Moore disagrees with this, and suggests the following alternative reading for the inscription (1981, 210-12): LUGUQQRITTAS The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J.
