Ardcanaght holds one of two broken ogham stones found in a children's burial ground, now set beside a rock-art standing stone. Macalister read LMCBLTCL LT on its square pillar, preserving a name that may have marked a child rather than a champion. The small Kerry setting turns a sparse inscription into a chamber where love, loss and memory still press against the stone.

One of two ogham stones (KE047-037001-/KE047-026001-) discovered by the Tralee field club in the 1940s in a children's burial ground (KE047-037----). Now located in a modern enclosure beside a standing stone (KE047-026----) decorated with rock art (KE047-026002-). This ogham stone (0.86m (above ground) x 0.15m x 0.14m) was recorded by Macalister (1945, 241, no. 246b) as 'a pillar stone about 4' high, square in horizontal section: broken in two'. He read the inscription as LMCBLTCL LT. Cross-referenced with KE047-026003-. This stone has been studied as part of the ‘Ogham in 3D’ project undertaken by the School of Celtic Studies, Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies. Compiled by: Dr. Nora White
