Odongovans Seat is a stone-faced mound in West Cork pasture, traditionally named as a gun position against Castle Donovan. It is not a hidden chamber or fairy threshold, though it is the kind of place where people may have imagined one. The odds are better that it is a boundary marker, burial mound or abandoned home, dressed later into a weapon because warfare makes a cleaner story.

In pasture, on gentle W-facing slope. Stone-faced subcircular mound (H 1.95m; 6m E-W; 6.5m N-S) of earth over stone, kept level by scarp. According to local tradition, used as gun emplacement to attack Castle Donovan (CO119-017002-). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
