Sir Frank Dyson, the Astronomer Royal from 1910 to 1933, was a prominent British astronomer who led expeditions to observe solar eclipses to test Einstein's theory of general relativity; the 1927 eclipse observations contributed to the growing acceptance of relativistic physics.
