Nutshaw Hill rises to approximately 165 meters above sea level and is part of the rolling moorland landscape typical of the West Pennine Moors. Its prominence is modest, but it offers panoramic views across the surrounding Lancashire countryside. The area is underlain by Carboniferous limestone and millstone grit, and while it lacks specific folklore, it has historical significance as a backdrop to industrial and agricultural activity in the Burnley region.
