This blue commemorative plaque records: Hatherton Lodge. Formerly on this site from 1861 was the home of Noah Hingley (1796-1877) and also of his son Benjamin Hingley (1830-1905) ironmasters and politicians whose Netherton works made the deck anchor shackle, pins and chain, for the Titanic. Recorded plaque organisation: Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council.
Noah Hingley and his son Benjamin were prominent ironmasters and politicians known for their significant contributions to the iron industry. Their company produced critical components used in the construction of the RMS Titanic.
