Sweetheart Abbey, founded in the 13th century in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland, was a Cistercian nunnery traditionally associated with the love story of Lady Devorgilla and her husband, Sir Walter Stewart, who is said to have died in the Battle of Largs in 1263. The abbey's name derives from this tale, and it became a site of pilgrimage and local veneration, with traditions linking it to healing and devotion.
