This blue commemorative plaque records: Netherhayes, 18th. Century. Originally a farmhouse, it was converted by Henrietta Head to become Seaton's first surgery. When she married Seaton's first doctor, Dr. Thomas Cann (1805-1859) Recorded plaque organisation: Rotary Centenary.
Henrietta Head and Dr. Thomas Cann were instrumental in transforming Netherhayes into Seaton's first medical surgery, significantly improving local healthcare access in the 19th century.
