Shipwreck

What is recorded here

Anchor is a 3.37m pre-1820 wreck anchor in County Antrim, not a whole ship. A scallop boat dredged it up in 2013, and it now sits on the Ballycastle quay, pulling that forgotten sea back into the town.
The official Northern Ireland wreck record identifies N/A as Anchor. It was lost in Unknown. Recorded condition: Anchor dredged up by scallop boat in 2013; currently sitting on quay at Ballycastle. Recorded 2016/05/11 by MFD. L. 3.37m. Probable wooden stock; pre-1820 AD. SSS (MFD 2016); no obvious sign of vessel at position.

A wreck point does not grant access or permission to dive, enter land, disturb the site or recover anything. Check current law and local conditions first.
