Mungo's Walls

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Mungo's Walls as Holy Well (medieval)(possible). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 100m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Linked to Saint Mungo (Columba of Diage), patron saint of Glasgow, the well is associated with healing traditions and may have been a site of pilgrimage. Local folklore suggests the water was used to cure eye ailments and other afflictions, reflecting broader Celtic Christian practices of attributing curative powers to saints' wells.
