What is recorded here
Muncaster Castle is a registered Grade II* park and garden in Cumberland, England, where the Pennington family still hosts weddings, owl flights and ghost sits. The castle front lawns and stable yard become wedding grounds or group lodging, while the Old Laundry feeds eighty guests and the Coachman’s Quarters sleeps thirty-four. In May a Fool is appointed, in summer Three Inch Fools perform outside, and at Halloween the rooms are handed over to darkness and coffee.
The National Heritage List for England records Muncaster Castle as a registered park or garden at Grade II*. The saved point comes from the centre supplied by the official record. Listing does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
