Farrel's Fort still stands in Ballylesson as a multivallate rath, its layered earthworks preserving the shape of a place people built to keep out or hold back. It belongs to the Christian era, though no exact year remains attached to its making. The fort carries a human name, suggesting descent, ownership or memory lived beside it for generations. Stone, soil and repetition did the rest.
