Magherafelt’s multiperiod church and graveyard has marked the same ground from Early Christian times to the modern day, making it one of the longest continuous sacred landscapes in County Derry. People may have prayed, buried their dead and gathered beside those markers through every changing world above the same soil. The church and graveyard still stand as a scheduled ancient layer beneath ordinary town life.
