Between 1808‒56 Mrs. Elizabeth Grace ran a boarding school for ten young ladies here. Henry Mills Grace, father of W. G. Grace, was born here in 1808. The property was enlarged by 1809. After Elizabeth’s death it temporarily became
Mrs. Elizabeth Grace operated a prominent boarding school for young ladies from 1808 to 1856; the site is also notable as the birthplace of Henry Mills Grace, father of the famous cricketer W.G. Grace.
