This brass commemorative plaque records: These mounting steps are very rare (mounting blocks being more common) They were restore by the Cork Civic Trust, prior to the major restoration of the premises, undertaken in 1982/83 Recorded plaque organisation: York Civic Trust.
These mounting steps are a rare surviving example of historical equestrian architecture, used for mounting horses; their restoration by the Cork Civic Trust highlights efforts to preserve local heritage.
